Business Overview

Our core businesses consist of 2 main business units:

1. Non-Performing Loans Management Business (NPLs):

We purchase NPLs from financial institutions in Thailand, including banks and other asset management companies, and manage NPLs through debt-restructuring negotiations with debtors to reach optimal solutions for all stakeholders where possible. Our NPLs are mostly collateralized by real estate on which BAM has a primary lien.

2. Non-Performing Assets Management Business (NPAs):

We acquire NPAs through various means, such as negotiating with debtors for the transfer of the underlying collateral in satisfaction of debt, foreclosing on the collateral underlying our NPLs, and purchasing NPAs directly from financial institutions. For efficient and comprehensive NPAs management, the company has strategies to develop and renovate the NPAs to ensure their readiness for utilization and boost their salability.

Business Plan

The company is committed to operating the business by reviving assets to drive Thai economy and society towards sustainable growth. We are aware of the value creation of products and services in the long run, pay attention to the environment, and take all stakeholders into account. We also promote business development, create business innovations, and manage the quality of data to meet the standards of data management, with the integration of all elements within the organization, starting from improving business processes, information technology system, to concurrently updating the database to achieve sustainable business goals.

Sustainable Development Plan

The company has set a conceptual framework, goals, and sustainable development strategies by referring to international operational guidelines, which is the Sustainable Development Goals: SDGs. The company monitors and reports sustainability performance in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative: GRI which includes economic, social, and environmental issues and good corporate governance. In addition, shared values ​​are created to achieve consistent operations among all groups within the company for sustainable development.

Business Highlight

The company plays a key role in acquiring and managing Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) and Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) with the policies of helping reliable debtors return to the economic system and revive the second-hand real estate sector to increase value and drive market demand for the properties. Currently, under its management, the company has NPLs of total claim amount of Baht 495,007 million and NPAs of total appraisal value of Baht 71,316 million. The company successfully helped 155,683 debtors settle debts with the total principal balance of Baht 484,649 million and sold 52,258 properties with the total appraisal value of Baht 113,602 million.

Business Performance Summary
  • The company reported a net profit of Baht 1,534 million in 2023, a decrease of 43.7 percent compared to the previous year and reported a collection from NPLs management in the amount of Baht 8,452 million and from NPAs management in the amount of Baht 6,698 million, totaling of Baht 15,150 million.
  • The Company continued to focus on operations that seek to create sustainability and provide assistance to customers as the debt repayment ability of retail debtors was affected by household debt problems while business debtors requested a deferment of debt repayment due to the slow and incomplete economic recovery. Meanwhile, NPAs management remained relatively stable as second-hand houses still gaining attentions although the overall real estate market in the country did not see a rapid growth due to the strictness of lending by financial institutions, especially to home loan applications under Baht 3 million, along with the high interest rate situation that put pressure on purchasing power in the real estate sector.

  • The company received an ‘excellent’ corporate governance rating from the Corporate Governance Report of Thai Listed Companies (CGR) by the Thai Institute of Directors (IOD) for the second consecutive year.
  • The company received a certificate for renewing the company’s membership of the Thai Private Sector Collective Action Coalition against Corruption (CAC) for the second time.
Risk Management Policy

The company recognizes the importance of risk management and has developed the company’s enterprise risk management policy to serve as a risk management framework, taking into account the objectives and goals of the company’s business operations. The enterprise risk management policy is reviewed on a regular basis and covers key business risks at present as well as emerging risk and environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks in accordance with the regulations of the Bank of Thailand and the Stock Exchange of Thailand. The company has put in place the integrated risk management under the COSO ERM framework and ensured the integration of the governance, risk management and compliance (GRC) practice into its operations.
